Michael Capellas - Chairman of the Board
Michael Capellas, CEO of strategic technology advisory firm Capellas Partners, currently serves on the Board of Flex (Chair), Cisco (Lead Independent Director), and Blue Yonder (Chair). He is a Senior Advisor to Blackstone. A four-time corporate CEO, his career as a global technology leader has spanned from innovative technology start-ups to large corporate turnarounds. Capellas was the CEO of Compaq Computer Corporation and a year later, added the title of chairman. During his tenure, the company was recognized as the global leader in computer servers. He was named President of Hewlett Packard following the merger between Compaq and HP. He was the Chairman and CEO of Worldcom post-bankruptcy and transformed the company from a long-distance provider into the world’s largest carrier of internet traffic. Capellas was named Chairman and CEO of First Data Corporation, a global leader in payments and electronic commerce. He became Founding Chairman and CEO of VCE, the Virtual Computing Company, a joint venture between Cisco, EMC and VMware which developed and commercialized an innovative platform for cloud computing. During his tenure at VCE, he co-chaired the Federal Commission on Deployment of the Cloud (Cloud2). He graduated from Kent State University and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lloyd "Buzz" Waterhouse - Vice Chairman of the Board
Lloyd (Buzz) Waterhouse joined the Blue Yonder Board of Directors and New Mountain Capital as a senior advisor in 2015 and was named vice chairman in January 2017. Waterhouse currently serves as the interim president and CEO of McGraw-Hill Education, one of the world’s largest learning sciences companies. He previously served as the president and CEO of McGraw-Hill Education from June 2012 until April 2014 where he was responsible for the separation of McGraw-Hill Education from McGraw-Hill Financial, standing up the company and its subsequent sale to Apollo Global Management. Prior to that, he was also the CEO of Harcourt Education, a provider of instructional materials, e-learning and testing services for the global education market. Earlier in his career, he was CEO and chairman of The Reynolds & Reynolds Company, the leading provider of automotive retailing solutions, and held numerous roles at IBM. He led their strategy and business development functions during Lou Gerstner’s tenure and subsequent turn-around, launched IBM Global Services, and was president of Asia Pacific Services Corporation.
Girish Rishi - Chief Executive Officer
Since becoming CEO of Blue Yonder in February 2017, Girish Rishi has emphasized a values-driven culture and a growth mindset at the company, establishing a customer-first approach and driving a product pivot toward edge technologies. As the largest supply chain software company, Blue Yonder acknowledges and embraces its responsibilities to innovate and deliver solutions that transform its customers’ supply chains. Rishi leverages his background in product development and go-to-market strategies across a number of leading companies including Symbol Technologies where he led the company’s EMEA operations, at Motorola where he led the Enterprise division, and at Tyco International where he was responsible for the company’s retail solutions business and the North America services business. Rishi spent the first 15 years of his career in early-to-mid stage entrepreneurial companies learning the value of co-innovating with customers and delivering differentiated solutions. Rishi travels extensively for work, reads voraciously and in his downtime, hangs out with his wife and two boys. He serves on the Board of Directors of Insight Enterprises and is a member of the Board of Regents at the University of Hartford.
Naveen Bhatia joined the Blue Yonder Board in November 2016. He is a Senior Director in the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone, involved with sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities. Bhatia has been involved in the execution of the group’s investments in Trimaran, PMI Group, RG Barry Corporation, Caesars Acquisition Company, Blue Yonder, BTIG, NCR Corp, and Natural Resource Partners. Before joining Blackstone in 2013, Bhatia was a Managing Director at 40 North Industries LLC, a private investment firm where he focused on special situations debt and equity investments, both public and private. Prior to 40 North, he was a Principal at Keffi Group, Ltd., a family office in New York. From 2003 to 2008, Bhatia was a Co-Founder and Partner at Eagle Lake Capital LLC, a private investment partnership focused on fundamental, value investing across the capital structure. He started his career as a member of the Restructuring Group at Rothschild. Bhatia received a BA in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University.
Christos M. Cotsakos, Ph.D.
Dr. Christos M. Cotsakos joined the Blue Yonder Board of Directors in 2014. Cotsakos has been a Senior Advisor, at New Mountain since 2013. He is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Pennington Ventures, LLC, a privately held new media, technology, strategic management and advisory company. Formerly, Cotsakos served as Chairman and CEO of E*TRADE Group, Inc., where he took the company public and pioneered the personal online investment market. He also served as global Co-CEO of ACNielsen, Founding Co-Managing Partner at ArrowPath Ventures, Founding Chairman, CEO and President of EndPlay, Inc. and served in several senior executive positions at Federal Express Corporation. Cotsakos holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of London, an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BA in Communications from William Paterson University. He is also a decorated combat veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Infantry.
Peter Masucci became a member of the Blue Yonder Board in 2010. Masucci joined New Mountain in 2004 and serves as Managing Director. He was previously associated with KKR, where he focused on private equity investments across a number of industries. From 1997 to 2000, he was an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance Departments of Goldman Sachs, where he evaluated and executed a number of strategic transactions. In addition to Blue Yonder, he is a director at InComm Holdings, Legends Hospitality, OneDigital, Sparta Systems and DRB Systems. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board of SNL Financial and ACA Compliance Group, and was also involved with Deltek, Inmar and Valet Waste. Masucci received his BA with highest distinction in Finance with an Accounting emphasis from the University of Iowa in 1997 where he was an Academic All-American. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004.
Viral Patel joined the Blue Yonder Board in October 2016. He is a Senior Managing Director in the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone Since joining Blackstone in 2005, Patel has been involved in the execution of the firm's investments in Ai Media, Cloudreach, Cylance, Gates, Hidrovias, Blue Yonder, Milestone Equipment Corp, Penn Engineering, TITUS and Targa Resources. Prior to joining Tactical Opportunities in 2012, Patel was a Managing Director with Blackstone Advisory Partners where he focused on structured finance transactions across several industries including financial institutions, consumer, media, and healthcare. Before joining Blackstone, Patel was a member of the Credit Suisse and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Structured Products businesses. Patel holds a BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University. He serves on the Boards of Ai Media, Cloudreach, Hidrovias, Blue Yonder, Penn Engineering and TITUS.
Jack Qian joined the Blue Yonder Board in October 2016. Qian joined New Mountain in 2007 as Managing Director. He previously worked in the Global Technology Group at Morgan Stanley in New York. He received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Yale University in 2005. He is currently a director of Ciox Health, Convey Health, Equian, IRI, Blue Yonder, Sparta Systems, DRB Systems, and Revint Solutions.
Anushka M. Sunder
Anushka M. Sunder joined the Blue Yonder board in November 2016. She is a Principal in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, where she focuses primarily on the healthcare and technology sectors. Since joining Blackstone in 2013, Sunder has been involved in the execution of Blackstone’s investments in Blue Yonder, NCR, Optiv, Outerstuff, and TeamHealth. She serves on the Board of Directors of Blue Yonder and Optiv. Before joining Blackstone, Sunder was an associate at TPG Capital, where she evaluated and executed private equity investments across several industries. Prior to that, she worked in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Financial Institutions Group. Sunder received an AB in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
