Success Story

Dicka Logistics

Warehouse Management, Transportation Management

Dicka Logistics accelerates global growth with Blue Yonder, enhancing agility and increasing implementation timelines by 75%

The company

Dicka Logistics is a Latin-American third-party logistics company that provides transportation, warehousing, and distribution services across the chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and automotive sectors. Its operations include 10 distribution centers across Mexico, covering over 300,000 square meters, with coordination across more than 60 transportation lanes and over 50 connection hubs. The company’s service coverage extends beyond Mexico into North America and Europe, supporting customers’ multi-regional supply chain requirements.

The business challenge

Dicka Logistics’ rapid growth was outpacing the capabilities of its legacy processes and technology. Its siloed warehousing and transportation tools slowed site launches. At the same time, lengthy interface builds impeded the company’s ability to respond quickly to new customers and markets and increased administrative workload due to delayed billing and reporting. The company also lacked end-to-end visibility, had gaps in traceability and data protection, and had rigid contracts that could not flex with changing volumes, creating cost inefficiencies for its customers.

The solution

Dicka Logistics selected Blue Yonder Warehouse Management (WMS) and Transportation Management (TMS) to create a connected, scalable solution to transform its operations. Together, the solutions support variable capacity and transactional demands. They have also enabled replication across Dicka Logistics’ distribution centers, accelerating the company’s deployment timelines. By connecting warehousing and distribution operations, Dicka Logistics’ Blue Yonder solutions provide end-to-end visibility and precise, centralized data that support the company’s market expansion by tailoring operational models to the industries it serves.

“Our main concern was integration. For us, having everything connected is a competitive advantage. We made it a priority to build the most complete model possible in Blue Yonder WMS and TMS. And once we had them, we cloned them and left them ready for future implementations so we could gain speed. And since everything is fully deployed in the cloud, it gives us elasticity.”

Connected operations enable scalable growth

Dicka Logistics’ rapid expansion created operational friction across its warehousing and transportation processes. Its existing systems lacked the flexibility to scale its operations across regions and industries, and operational timelines were also a significant constraint. Launching new facility operations required up to six months, limiting the company’s responsiveness to customer demand and growth. Its disconnected systems also delayed billing and reporting cycles, increasing administrative workload and extending staffing requirements.

To combat these challenges, Dicka Logistics’ leadership team initiated a structural shift in operations to prepare for long-term expansion and to support increasingly dynamic customer requirements.

With Blue Yonder WMS and TMS integrating warehousing and transportation functions, Dicka Logistics now has end-to-end visibility across its supply chain operations. Data synchronization provides its teams with real-time tracking of shipments, inventory, and costs, while automated connections between cargo transactions and customer orders streamline execution across more than 60 transportation partners. Its hybrid cloud environment combines a software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment of Blue Yonder TMS on Microsoft Azure public cloud, with Dicka Logistics’ existing system to reduce deployment disruptions. Blue Yonder partner Argano collaborated with Dicka Logistics to design and implement the architecture.

The company’s newfound enhanced visibility has improved its coordination with third-party providers, supporting its expansion into new markets. Blue Yonder’s solutions have significantly improved Dicka Logistics’ operational agility, making capacity adjustments—both in storage space and transactional volume—more manageable without extensive support. And accessibility to accurate, centralized data enables precise decision-making.

Blue Yonder supports Dicka Logistics’ variable-cost models to align with its customer contracts, improving profitability. Its teams can identify cost-saving opportunities with ease and optimize routing strategies, contributing to measurable reductions in transportation expenses.

Faster implementation drives market responsiveness

With Blue Yonder, Dicka Logistics’ deployment timelines have decreased by 75%, creating faster onboarding of new customers and quicker entry into new markets. Its pre-configured system models within Blue Yonder WMS and TMS allow rapid replication across its distribution centers. With reduced dependency on custom development, Dicka Logistics has eliminated the four- to six-month integration cycles previously required.

Operational efficiencies through automation and improved control

Automation from Dicka Logistics’ Blue Yonder solutions has reduced manual workloads across multiple functions. Faster processing of transportation requests has eliminated repetitive data-entry tasks, improving accuracy and speed.

Dicka Logistics has strengthened its operational efficiency by improving both warehouse and transportation processes. Through more automated warehouse operations, the company has significantly reduced the time and effort required to manage daily activities. In transportation, improved control through reconciled carrier rate reviews has strengthened the company’s ability to manage margins and optimize shipment decisions.

Advanced analytics within Blue Yonder’s solutions have supported more informed decision-making for Dicka Logistics. Personalized insights enable more profitable transportation network models that incorporate specific business and operational constraints, made possible by centralized transportation and cost information within the system.

Blue Yonder WMS has streamlined warehouse processes by automating routine tasks and reducing reliance on manual, directed activities. These automated workflows have reduced operational time by up to 30%, improving throughput and allowing teams to focus on higher value work. With standardized, real time data available across warehouse operations, administrative management time for report generation has also been reduced by up to 50%, as accurate insights can be produced instantly without manual consolidation. These improvements have strengthened operational efficiency, accuracy, and control across the warehouse.

Enhanced customer experience through data, visibility, and system trust

With improved data accuracy and system integration, Dicka Logistics has strengthened its interactions with its customers. Real-time visibility into operational data and reliable reporting has increased transparency across its operations, contributing to faster decision-making and continuous process improvement. In addition, the end-to-end visibility provided by Blue Yonder TMS and WMS enables more accurate, timely communication with customers. Operating on a world-class, regulation-compliant solution landscape has also strengthened customer trust in Dicka Logistics’ service reliability.

Built on the unified real-time data foundation enabled by Blue Yonder TMS and WMS, Dicka Logistics’ BI dashboards now deliver deeper analytical insights and comprehensive reporting. The dashboards surface carbon footprint metrics and key service level indicators, including proof of delivery, on-time delivery, and on time pick up, all derived from standardized operational data streaming directly from the TMS and WMS. This real-time visibility has strengthened service quality, improved responsiveness, and enhanced overall operational efficiency, contributing to increased customer satisfaction.

Flexible service models allow adjustments to storage capacity and transaction volumes based on customer needs, while pay-as-you-go capabilities have aligned costs with actual usage, creating more competitive offerings.

Mobile-friendly interfaces within Blue Yonder TMS have enhanced usability for its operational teams, creating faster response times and improved coordination across locations.

Building a foundation for continued innovation

“Dicka Logistics set out to build an execution system for the next decade—scalable, flexible, and capable of adapting to any operational scenario. Implementing Blue Yonder TMS has strengthened that effort, creating a strong digital foundation that now positions the company to respond effectively to evolving supply chain demands. With robust integration capabilities, cloud scalability, and advanced analytics, Dicka Logistics is well-equipped to expand capabilities, enhance efficiency, and deliver measurable value across its supply chain operations”, said Treviño.

Looking ahead, Dicka Logistics will prioritize investment in AI-driven automation to reduce manual workloads further and speed up decision-making. Expansion into additional markets across North America and Europe remains a strategic priority, supported by scalable system architecture.

Together, these initiatives ensure Dicka Logistics is positioned to meet future demands and lead the next phase of innovation across its network.
