National Read a Book Day, observed annually on September 6, encourages individuals to dedicate time to reading and enjoy the experience. The day highlights both the health benefits of reading, including stress reduction, enhanced memory and focus, and the educational benefits of literature for learning, entertainment, and personal growth. In celebration of this day, Blue Yonder associates share highlights of their experiences as members of the Blue Yonder Book Club.
Kristi Corbett, Director Talent Acquisition, U.S.: Joining Blue Yonder’s book club has been such a refreshing experience—it’s introduced me to new genres and stories I might have otherwise missed. I’m loving the variety and the chance to see the world through so many different lenses.
Paola Aguilar, Associate Success Generalist, Mexico: Being part of the book club has been a great way to meet people across the company I don't usually work with. It's also pushed me to explore genres I wouldn't normally pick and it's a nice break from the day-to-day activities.
Sonia Minhas, Senior Associate Success Business Partner, U.S.: Our book club is a one-hour escape each month into a new adventure. We’ve followed con artists, outcasts, artists, and old friends, and whether we’re unraveling mysteries or cheering for misfits, that hour spent with each other, beyond titles and responsibilities, is time well spent.
Hannah Fresia, Associate Success Business Partner, U.S.: Blue Yonder Book Club has been a fantastic way to connect with colleagues outside of our usual work, which has helped me get to know people better and build friendships. Plus, it's great how it opens my eyes to new ways of thinking and helps me really appreciate all the different ideas and viewpoints people have about the same material.
