Michael Capellas - Chairman of the Board
Michael Capellas, CEO of strategic technology advisory firm Capellas Partners, currently serves on the Board of Flex (Chair), Cisco (Lead Independent Director), and Blue Yonder (Chair). He is a Senior Advisor to Blackstone. A four-time corporate CEO, his career as a global technology leader has spanned from innovative technology start-ups to large corporate turnarounds. Capellas was the CEO of Compaq Computer Corporation and a year later, added the title of chairman. During his tenure, the company was recognized as the global leader in computer servers. He was named President of Hewlett Packard following the merger between Compaq and HP. He was the Chairman and CEO of Worldcom post-bankruptcy and transformed the company from a long-distance provider into the world’s largest carrier of internet traffic. Capellas was named Chairman and CEO of First Data Corporation, a global leader in payments and electronic commerce. He became Founding Chairman and CEO of VCE, the Virtual Computing Company, a joint venture between Cisco, EMC and VMware which developed and commercialized an innovative platform for cloud computing. During his tenure at VCE, he co-chaired the Federal Commission on Deployment of the Cloud (Cloud2). He graduated from Kent State University and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Girish Rishi - Chief Executive Officer
Since becoming CEO of Blue Yonder in February 2017, Girish Rishi has emphasized a values-driven culture and a growth mindset at the company, establishing a customer-first approach and driving a product pivot toward edge technologies. As the largest supply chain software company, Blue Yonder acknowledges and embraces its responsibilities to innovate and deliver solutions that transform its customers’ supply chains. Rishi leverages his background in product development and go-to-market strategies across a number of leading companies including Symbol Technologies where he led the company’s EMEA operations, at Motorola where he led the Enterprise division, and at Tyco International where he was responsible for the company’s retail solutions business and the North America services business. Rishi spent the first 15 years of his career in early-to-mid stage entrepreneurial companies learning the value of co-innovating with customers and delivering differentiated solutions. Rishi travels extensively for work, reads voraciously and in his downtime, hangs out with his wife and two boys. He serves on the Board of Directors of Insight Enterprises and is a member of the Board of Regents at the University of Hartford.
Naveen Bhatia joined the Blue Yonder Board in November 2016. He is a Senior Director in the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone, involved with sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities. Bhatia has been involved in the execution of the group’s investments in Trimaran, PMI Group, RG Barry Corporation, Caesars Acquisition Company, Blue Yonder, BTIG, NCR Corp, and Natural Resource Partners. Before joining Blackstone in 2013, Bhatia was a Managing Director at 40 North Industries LLC, a private investment firm where he focused on special situations debt and equity investments, both public and private. Prior to 40 North, he was a Principal at Keffi Group, Ltd., a family office in New York. From 2003 to 2008, Bhatia was a Co-Founder and Partner at Eagle Lake Capital LLC, a private investment partnership focused on fundamental, value investing across the capital structure. He started his career as a member of the Restructuring Group at Rothschild. Bhatia received a BA in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University.
Yasuyuki Higuchi joined Blue Yonder's board after the equity investment from Panasonic in 2020. Higuchi is a Representative Director, Member of the Board and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Panasonic Corporation, and the CEO of its B2B operations, the Panasonic Connected Solutions Company. Higuchi received an MBA from Harvard Business School and spent the following 25 years working at Boston Consulting Group Inc., Apple Inc., Compaq Computer Corporation, and running various companies including Hewlett‐Packard Japan Inc., the department store chain Daiei Inc., and Microsoft Japan Co. Ltd., before returning to his current position at Panasonic.
Peter Masucci became a member of the Blue Yonder Board in 2010. Masucci joined New Mountain in 2004 and serves as Managing Director. He was previously associated with KKR, where he focused on private equity investments across a number of industries. From 1997 to 2000, he was an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance Departments of Goldman Sachs, where he evaluated and executed a number of strategic transactions. In addition to Blue Yonder, he is a director at InComm Holdings, Legends Hospitality, OneDigital, Sparta Systems and DRB Systems. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board of SNL Financial and ACA Compliance Group, and was also involved with Deltek, Inmar and Valet Waste. Masucci received his BA with highest distinction in Finance with an Accounting emphasis from the University of Iowa in 1997 where he was an Academic All-American. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2004.
Viral Patel joined the Blue Yonder Board in October 2016. He is a Senior Managing Director in the Tactical Opportunities Group at Blackstone Since joining Blackstone in 2005, Patel has been involved in the execution of the firm's investments in Ai Media, Cloudreach, Cylance, Gates, Hidrovias, Blue Yonder, Milestone Equipment Corp, Penn Engineering, TITUS and Targa Resources. Prior to joining Tactical Opportunities in 2012, Patel was a Managing Director with Blackstone Advisory Partners where he focused on structured finance transactions across several industries including financial institutions, consumer, media, and healthcare. Before joining Blackstone, Patel was a member of the Credit Suisse and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Structured Products businesses. Patel holds a BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University. He serves on the Boards of Ai Media, Cloudreach, Hidrovias, Blue Yonder, Penn Engineering and TITUS.
Jack Qian joined the Blue Yonder Board in October 2016. Qian joined New Mountain in 2007 as Managing Director. He previously worked in the Global Technology Group at Morgan Stanley in New York. He received his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Yale University in 2005. He is currently a director of Ciox Health, Convey Health, Equian, IRI, Blue Yonder, Sparta Systems, DRB Systems, and Revint Solutions.
Nadia Shouraboura joined the board of directors in 2020. She is a senior advisor at New Mountain Capital. From 2012-2018, she was the Founder and CEO of Hointer, now a part of an Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers, which launched a new kind of retail format featuring the world's most advanced supply chain and shopping technologies. Prior to Hointer, from 2004-2012, she served as Technology Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Fulfillment Platform for Amazon and also served on Jeff Bezos' senior leadership team responsible for overall direction and operations of Amazon. She has also held various roles at several companies, including Exelon Power, Diamond Management & Technology Consultants and Robcad. She has degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from both Moscow State University and Tel Aviv University and a PhD in Mathematics from Princeton University.
Anushka M. Sunder
Anushka M. Sunder joined the Blue Yonder board in November 2016. She is a Principal in Blackstone’s Private Equity Group, where she focuses primarily on the healthcare and technology sectors. Since joining Blackstone in 2013, Sunder has been involved in the execution of Blackstone’s investments in Blue Yonder, NCR, Optiv, Outerstuff, and TeamHealth. She serves on the Board of Directors of Blue Yonder and Optiv. Before joining Blackstone, Sunder was an associate at TPG Capital, where she evaluated and executed private equity investments across several industries. Prior to that, she worked in investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Financial Institutions Group. Sunder received an AB in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
