Dr. Michael Feindt
Dr. Michael Feindt has his dream job. A rock star in the world of artificial intelligence (AI), Michael is a physicist and data scientist who is constantly thinking about how algorithms can be developed, improved and advanced to not only benefit businesses, but improve the world. He believes that with good decisions and Blue Yonder’s solutions, companies can do more around sustainability and minimizing their CO2 imprint.
As strategic advisor, his role at Blue Yonder is to continually research how AI and machine learning can be used to improve supply chains.
If he had to pick one Blue Yonder Core Value to represent what he brings to the company, he picks Results. As a data scientist, he enjoys gaining a deep understanding of a customer’s business and how AI/ML can help solve their problems to gain positive results. But he’s quick to add that his Relentlessness leads him to always be curious and find better answers.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, architecture, seaside vacations, and fancy cars – but only if they are half electric!
4 Questions with Michael:
- What excites you most about working at Blue Yonder?
As co-founder of the original Blue Yonder (which was acquired by JDA Software in 2018), it’s exciting to see where the brand has been and is going. It’s been a big part of my life and it allows me to bring the science world and business world together – two things I enjoy.
- In your view, how do supply chains save the world?
Supply chains are necessary, and we’ve seen their importance with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The result was that many companies were too dependent on one part of the world or one supplier, so it taught us that companies need to be more resilient, regional and more diverse.
- How do you give back to your community?
As a professor, scientist and entrepreneur, I share my knowledge, experience and advice with government bodies, enterprises, students, and scientific communities to benefit future generations. This is sustainable: Knowledge is one of the few things on earth that you can share without having less of it afterwards.
- Describe yourself in three words.
Curious. Focused. Inspiring.
